1944 Big Band Comedy Canteen 2004 Production
The Community Players of Concord are proud to present
the New Thalian Players' production of the
1944 Big Band Comedy Canteen
The first time this original show was presented by the New Thalian Players, amazing reviews and comments were received on this fresh, funny, and nostalgic show. The premise is a USO fundraising event for US Troops in World War II where popular stars join together to raise
money by selling War Bonds.
1944 characters like WC Fields, Bob Hope, Mae West, the Andrews Sisters, Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole and more entertain with comedy routines, songs, radio dramas, and wonderful commercial jingles that spark memories of the early days of entertainment. And everyone leaves with a renewed patriotic pride in the USA.
A truly original, special, and wonderful show!
Our 2004 Production is being produced by the Community Players of Concord (website)
and performed at the Concord City Auditorium (theatre website) in Concord NH. Click HERE for directions
