Michael Shaughnessy



 

Michael Shaughnessy (music director) graduated from the Oral Roberts University School of Music in 1999 where he studied classical and Jazz vocal and piano. He also performed extended studies at the UCLA extension program for film scoring. Since then He has scored numerous films snd commercials, a 10 episode series entitled "God Chasers" and "America at War" that airs on the TBN Network as well as a number of commercials. He also scored a short Italian film "Melanzane E Cioccolato" (Eggplant and Chocolate) that was awarded the Fuji Audience Impact Award at the 2004 Angelus in Hollywood, Ca. Most recently, Michael's music can be heard on the television show "Answers with Bayless" airing on Sunday mornings at 8 am on LA's KTLA. He has partnered with Uplift Productions, Save Africa's Children, Into AfricaCottonwood Christian Center and others.

Over the past 6 years, Michael has been teaching film composition and music arts at Lighthouse Christian Academy, a private school on Santa Monica, California. He has edited, produced and engineered many projects in numerous genres. Michael has also coached Sabrina Bryan(Cheetah Girls), Leannza Steines(Miss America 1993, and Animal Planet host), and worked with Vinny Calaiuta(drummer for Sting), Bobby Watson(producer for Janet Jackson) Lee Curreri(star ofFame the tv show),Gavin Christopher (award winning songwriter) and many others.

Currently Michael is in the process of releasing Permission to Be, his first solo pop/rock album release.

 

In conjunction with his music and film work, Michael has also beome a certified martial arts instructor, having tested for his first degree of black belt from Master Ahn's Taekwondo in Los Angeles, CA.

 

He continues toward 2nd degree at Tiger An's Taekwondo in Bedford, NH.

 
He now resides in his hometown of Manchester, NH with his wife Karen of 7 years and his children Isaac(5), Abigail(2 1/2) and Silas (1).
